Our programs offer a great introduction to preschool! Our experienced teachers, permanent aides and families, collaborate to build a unique atmosphere emphasizing social development and learning through exploration and play.
Our Baby Room is a self-contained room which cares for babies from 6 months to approximately 24 months of age, depending on when we feel the babies are ready to make the move into the main nursery. We aim to cater for each baby’s individual needs and ensure that the care that they have is similar to what happens at home. This allows them to settle in quickly and ensures they are not too disrupted by coming to nursery.
Our Mini Leaders room is an important steppingstone between pre-school and school. While in this room, children develop skills and abilities which they will build upon during their time in pre-school.

We ensure that our nursery meets the learning and development requirements outlined in the revised Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as well as incorporating certain aspects of the international early years approaches. Children are offered a broad and well-rounded education.

At Little Leaders, we believe early years is all about discovery and learning. Children should be in charge of their own learning “Child-led learning”, a path that they find interesting. We, as early educators provide endless provocations to facilitate great play and learning. Immersing children in exploratory play, giving them the tools to develop their skills independently – with a watchful eye and interjecting with questions and discussion.
We ensure that our nursery meets the learning and development requirements outlined in the revised Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as well as incorporating certain aspects of the international early years approaches. Children are offered a broad and well-rounded education.
Inspired by the Scandinavian approach to learning, we place great emphasis on the outdoors. We offer ‘free flow’ learning where children can choose to learn outdoors or inside for most of the day. Forest School sessions will be on offer to every child soon.
We highly value the arts and take much inspiration from the Reggio Emelia approach to learning. Children are seen as artists and can express themselves through dance, drama, painting, clay and open-ended resources.
Our nursery rooms offer homes to small pets, throughout the year, including a tortoise, hatching of eggs to chicks and children engaging and learning the metamorphosis process of the caterpillars to butterflies. This provides children with everyday contact and joy with the world of nature.
Little Leaders includes structured activities and free play for individuals and groups of children. Our aim is

- To offer learning by doing, and are given an array of open-ended materials so they can creatively explore their world.

- To provide a firm foundation that equips each child with the skills and passion for lifelong learning
Little Leaders is committed to providing an environment where children can play, learn, develop and achieve and where they are safeguarded and are enabled to tell or communicate if they are being harmed in some way.
We are committed to ensuring that all practitioners are sensitive to issues of race, culture, gender and diversity but these issues should never be a barrier to sharing and reporting concerns about children.
All practitioners regularly undergo safeguarding training and have an up to date DBS check.

From the Nursery
Registration
We encourage all families to tour Little Leaders before they submit an application. Families are invited to tour our nursery during morning hours, 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM or 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM, so they can get a close look at our different programs. To make an appointment for a tour, please call 0161 226 8562.
Registration can be completed at any point during the year however for the funded places, applications must be received prior to the term starting. Families will be notified, 4 weeks prior to the start of term regarding the status of their application.
However if you miss the deadline, please contact us as we continue to accept applicants on a first-come first-served basis, while space is available.
Little Leaders provides a variety of session options to accommodate family needs. Being flexible is important to be able to support our parents needs.
We offer many varied sessions to support our families.
- Early Bird / Breakfast Club Sessions from 7.30am
- Full Day Sessions from 8am-6pm
- Mid Day Sessions from 8.30am – 4pm
- Half Day Sessions from 8am-12pm or 1pm-6pm

FREE EARLY ENTITLEMENT FUNDING – 2, 3, 4 Years Old
Funded hours can only be taken over term time only
- 15 hour sessions 8:30 AM to 11:30 or 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM five days a week, September through to July. This program is designed for children ages 2 to 4. This is a government funded session based on eligibility criteria and children must have turned 2 prior to the start of the term.
- 2. 15 hour sessions 2 ½ days a week, September through to July. This program is designed for children ages 2 to 4. This is a government funded session based on eligibility criteria and children must have turned 2 prior to the start of the term.
- 30 hour sessions 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, September through to July. This program is designed for children ages 3 and 4. This is a government funded session based on eligibility criteria and children must have turned 3 prior to the start of the term.
Your child’s happiness at our nursery is paramount to us. We work closely with parents to ensure that there is a close home/nursery relationship. Our aim is to ensure that your child enjoys every day at our nursery. A positive experience at nursery will stand them in good stead for leading a happy school life throughout their childhood.
Once a place has been confirmed, we will arrange a settling in session for your child. These sessions will allow your child to visit the nursery in short sessions enabling them to familiarise themselves to the new surroundings and new adults and children.
Each child is different: some will settle into nursery life quickly, whereas some might take a few weeks, or even a whole term. We will help your child to settle in with kindness, love, and patience. We will always work closely with you to ensure that your child feels happy, secure, and confident throughout their time at our nursery.
