About Little Leaders
Our Story
AtLittle Leaders, we believe that the best environment for learning is one that is nurturing and supportive. Through meaningful learning experiences, children are encouraged to develop their own special qualities and to accept different qualities in others. Children and their key persons work together to recognise feelings and to channel them in constructive ways.
From its inception, Little Leaders has fostered a sense of community and encouraged play-based learning. Our practitioners share our vision of what young children need to thrive in their early years. Our spacious rooms are bright and airy, and provide the children with ample room, including a dedicated sensory space and a secure garden for all the activities our setting offers.
Children learn about their community and how to respond to each other with sensitivity and respect. Rather than fill children with information, our practitioners tailor sessions to the interests and curiosities of the children in the playroom, creating an ownership and excitement for learning.
Founded in 2012, Little Leaders is located in Whalley Range which is in close proximity to Old Trafford, Chorlton, Didsbury, Hulme and Moss Side.
OUR VALUES
Our Philosophy
Little Leaders founding philosophy is “Nurturing Leaders of Tomorrow”.
Our vision is to offer a home from home environment, where a child’s uniqueness is respected and celebrated and every child is encouraged to achieve their own potential, so they have the best start in life.
The setting promotes a community approach of learning with and from each other, acknowledging similarities, individualism and celebrating all. Embracing the cultural capital of our families we aim to enable each child to develop an awareness of themselves and the world, through exploration and promoting questioning. This enables the child to have the best opportunity to achieve success and contribute positively to civic society and their respective communities fostering understanding and social responsibility.

Commitment
to Diversity
Little Leaders was founded, with a deep commitment to diversity of race, class, ethnicity, gender, religion, family, language, physical ability, and learning styles. We hope to arrive at a kind of global peace in a world of discord through creating a diverse community where the child’s self-concept is strong. Participating in this type of community, sows the seeds for compassion, acceptance, and understanding of others. The roots of peace and the acknowledgment of others begin with the first experiences of a young child. These experiences influence a child’s future beliefs about social justice.
Diversity is embraced through our curriculum as children, practitioners, and parents explore identity, cultural traditions, similarities, and differences through literature, music, nutrition, art, play, movement and conversation.
- Honesty & Respect
